about

This certainly has been a long time coming. We'd been shopping around for a studio for well over a year. We had some great offers, but Kevin was the first one who suggested working with Steve Perrino, and after seeing his track record and listening to other recordings he's done, it was a no brainer for us. Steve was absolutely wonderful to work with, he helped take everything we wanted and make it come to life. The environment in the studio is so relaxing, it almost feels like we're at practice. So of course our biggest thanks to Steve. We also want to thank Dan Roberts for helping out with drums and letting us use his set (trust us, you'll be thankful that happened).

This is actually an older song that Alex wrote about 5 years ago. He was working on a solo project that only went as far as a handful of Soundcloud uploads, but the verses and choruses of this song came from that. We started working on this song pretty much immediately when Kevin joined the band, and we've since closed every show with it. Speaking personally, I find it to be the most powerful song in our arsenal (for now, at least) and a song that so well represents all of our tastes in music. Everybody gets to have a shining moment somewhere in the song, and the buildup into the last part of the song moves me every time I play it and hear it. When we were figuring out what song we wanted to do first, this just seemed like the most natural answer. It's a song that defines who we are, who we were, and who we want to become. It's something we'll always carry with us and proudly show off to highlight ourselves. It's a song that, in its simplicity, has its intricacies and became so much more when we set our heads to recording it and making it perfect.

This song is called Forgive and Forget. We hope you enjoy it.

With love,

Northern Weather

lyrics

I heard your heart in the drumbeat
It reminded me of everything
Then sparked a fragment of memory
And now I cannot remember

I know that look that you gave to me
Is just a shadow of what was
And now you're staring right through me
And I know that you know I know

And I touched your face
And you dug my grave for days

I heard your voice in the melody
It reminded me of everything
I had to drown out the memories
The silence helps me to forget

Your eyes were staring daggers right through me
I was waiting by the door ready to leave
The silence resounded and was deafening
Reverberating through our hollowed hearts

Then I touched your face
Then you dug my grave for days
And I touched your face
And you dug my grave for days

Tell me what you said to me,
Tell me what you said to me, anyhow
Why won't you tell me what you said to me
Tell me what you said to me anyhow

No!
